The Al Sadd branch of the Food Palace, a leading supermarket group, was latest victim of a major crackdown launched by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing on outlets violating health and safety regulations. The supermarket was closed following a raid conducted by the health affairs department. The action was taken after the outlet was found to be selling some packages of expired juice, Food Palace sources said. A local health official said the crackdown was to protect the health of nationals as well as expatriates.
