Rexam Closures (Evansville, IN) has introduced a one-piece, senior-friendly, child-resistant closure specifically for tubes. The closure employs a push-and-turn mechanism.

A spring effect locks the cap in place when downward pressure is applied, and a "click" tells the user that it's locked. A plug within the closure is said to ensure seal integrity and prevent premature dispensing of product--anesthetics, antiseptics, burn remedies--while removing the closure. Designed in 18-mm sizes for a wide range of tube diameters.
