Said to be the first such closure manufactured in the Americas, the membrane end delivers enhanced convenience to consumers while accommodating the rigors of thermal processing. Membrane end is currently being processed in a 211-dia version, with plans for 307- and 401-dia versions using proprietary technology. The membrane structure is heat sealed to an aluminum ring. The closure has lower opening forces than conventional scored convenience ends, has no sharp edges, and uses current double-seam technology requiring minimal seamer modifications.
