Peaches and lemons pop on this label

Bold, colorful images on a full-body heat-shrink label are helping Essentia Water’s Aquess turn heads. A newly launched beverage containing water-soluble fibers, Essentia comes in a 500-mL (16.9 oz) bottle made of polyethylene terephthalate.

“The attractive presentation of the graphics, the billboard effect of the 360-degree graphic orientation, plus the ability of the label to shrink to the contours of the bottle ensure a unique way to differentiate the product and attract the consumer to the shelf,” says James J. Tonkin, chief executive of the Phoenix-based firm.

Seal-It (Farmingdale, NY) prints the 2-mil polyvinyl chloride label on a gravure press in 10 colors. The two flavors, peach and lemon essence, are conveyed with illustrations of the fruits printed in precise colors. The lush and realistic lemon and peach on each label are illustrated against a blue water background, so consumers can easily recognize one flavor from the other.

Launched about a year ago and priced at $1.19 in a variety of retail outlets, Aquess is available throughout most of the United States and Canada. Essentia chooses not to discuss closure, PET bottle vendor, or label application equipment. (PR)
