Corona-treated film test

The American Society of Test Methods (ASTM) announces the approval of a new test method for determining the surface energy of corona-treated films. The new test method, ASTM5679-96, is entitled "Test Method for Corona-Treated Polymer Films Using Water Contact Angle Measurements." Method allows for the inclusion of measuring all polymer films, unlike the older test that measured only PP and PE films.

Describes how the new method also includes the ability to measure embossed, holographic or colored surfaces.
