Hoechst (Greer, SC) announced plans to sell to Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) its equity interest in the two companies' Diafoil joint venture to produce polyester films.

Hoechst also announced plans to sell Trevira (New York, NY), its worldwide polyester business, to a new entity to be formed by a consortium between KOSA, Ltd. (Wichita, KS) and Grupo Xtra (Mexico City, Mexico).
