Nestlé adds nutritional label to confections in UK and Ireland

With interest in healthy eating on the rise in Europe, Nestlé is beginning to phase in nutritional labeling on its confectionery products in England and Ireland.

The relabeling process is expected to be completed by October.

The calorie count/serving is displayed on the front of the product, with daily amount guidelines on the back. Nestlé already adopted these product labeling policies for other categories, including beverages, chilled dairy, milks, and cereal. The giant company is getting out ahead of any EU potential mandatory nutritional labeling copy beyond the current requirements of full ingredient lists, allergen warnings, and approved health claims.
