1999 inductees into the PEF Hall of Fame

Newly elected to the Packaging Education Forum's Packaging Hall of Fame are three inductees selected from 20 candidates submitted earlier this year.

The Packaging Leader of the Year, Dean Foods, will be honored along with the newest members of the PEF Hall of Fame during PEF's annual Packaging Leader of the Year benefit banquet scheduled for Thursday, October 28, at the Hotel Intercontinental in Chicago. John Culter, Ph.D., was senior principal scientist for General Mills from 1984 to 1997, where he led a group of corporate technical people working in corrugated, advanced packaging design and materials technology. Since his retirement, he has formed a consulting business, Advanced Materials Engineering, Inc., and continues his work as Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University. H. Lincoln Jepson is president and CEO at NJM/CLI Packaging Systems Intl. His 35-year career in packaging includes a significant contribution in technology development and growth of labeling systems worldwide. He is currently a director of the Packaging Education Forum, and he has been a member of the IoPP industry advisory committee to both the Packaging School of the University of Massachusetts--Lowell and Rutgers University School of Packaging. David Olsson, Ph.D., of Rochester Institute of Technology, has taught many years in recognized university-level packaging programs. He was director of the Packaging Science program at RIT for more than eight years. Dr. Olsson has published five books on packaging, including one in Russia, published more than 60 articles in trade press and popular magazines, delivered formal papers and chaired sessions at conferences worldwide, and holds a patent on a package for surgical sutures.
