'Made in the USA' means it

The Federal Trade Commission is backing off a proposal to ease the requirements for labeling a product "Made in the USA." Faced with protests from unions, consumer groups, and influential members of Congress, including Rep.

John Dingell (D-MI), the Commission apparently decided to stick with existing rules that limit the Made in the USA label to products that are "all or virtually all" domestically made, widely accepted as 98% or higher. Opponents feared the relaxed standard would send jobs overseas.
