PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, promoted Dave Newcorn to Senior Vice President, Digital & Data.

The newly created position allows PMMI to centralize its digital and audience resources under Newcorn with data, new product development, website development and information technology all now falling under his purview.

The promotion continues the integration of PMMI’s headquarters in Reston, Virginia and PMMI Media Group’s Chicago office, which began in 2014 with the purchase of Summit Media Group. Newcorn will report to PMMI President & CEO,Jim Pittas.

“Dave has played a vital role in PMMI’s evolution in the digital arena,” says Pittas. “By consolidating all of our digital and technology efforts under one person, I believe that PMMI Media Group, PMMI Business Drivers and PACK EXPO Portfolio of Trade Shows will be better, more efficient and provide even more innovative products and services to our members, advertisers and exhibitors. I am confident this new role will help our association and its members better understand, access and utilize all of the resources PMMI offers.”

Initially a staff editor on Packaging World, Newcorn has navigated PMMI Media Group’s digital media initiatives since 1996, serving as the creative force behind its leading-edge digital marketing solutions.

Newcorn comments on the new position: “We’ll be taking a data-centric approach to integrating audience development with new product development. This new approach promises to deliver a generation of products and services that will uniquely support members, exhibitors and advertisers while also providing a better experience for trade show attendees and our media audiences. I’m looking forward to working with my Chicago and Reston colleagues to leverage data and technology for everyone’s benefit.”

Newcorn will remain in PMMI Media Group’s Chicago office with a team that includes people currently working in both the Chicago and the Reston, Virginia offices.
