The final sale closed Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, according to PMMI president and CEO Charles D. Yuska.
The announcement comes on the cusp of the opening of one of the largest PACK EXPO events in history, PACK EXPO International 2014 and the co-located launch of Pharma EXPO (McCormick Place,
Chicago; Nov. 2-5).
"We are quite pleased to welcome the Summit team to the PMMI family. Summit has a well-deserved reputation for excellence, and its collection of industry publications and web presence will help us to further engage buyers and sellers. Combined with the PACK EXPO portfolio of trade shows, we'll be able to help key players in the industry stay engaged all year long," Yuska says.
In addition to the print publications, Summit Media Group adds its robust digital presence and established audience - further developing PMMI's strategic vision and goals.
"The breadth and depth of the information PMMI generates is immense. Summit's digital platform, as robust as it is and with the quality audience it attracts, will allow PMMI to facilitate
more exchange and distribution of that information," Yuska says.
Summit President and CEO Joe Angel adds, "Summit and PMMI are both in the information business, and our strengths complement each other. I'm confident that together, we will create spaces
that lead to conversations that make a difference to suppliers and customers up and down the packaging and processing supply chain. We're thrilled to be part of it!"
The Summit Media Group staff, becoming members of the PMMI staff as of Nov. 1, 2014, will maintain their Chicago-area office.
