Nulogy adds Custom Units of Measure for better brand & co-packer integration

The new capability enables packaging suppliers to track production and inventory using custom discrete and indiscrete units of measure.

Toronto-based Nulogy has released a new PackManager capability to enhance vertical integration of packaging data between brands and co-pack service providers. Specifically, PackManager’s new Custom Units of Measure capability enables packaging suppliers to track production and inventory using custom discrete and indiscrete units of measure. The new feature is particularly valuable for inventory and production tracking in primary packaging and continuous manufacturing environments.

To emphasize the need for greater integration between packaging partners, the company cited the latest F4SS Contract Manufacturing & Packaging Industry Survey, which indicated that up to 60% of suppliers are engaging in all of contract manufacturing, contract packaging and secondary packaging for their customers; and 73% of their customers are looking to consolidate their supplier base with those that deliver across the value stream.

“Our software evolves to meet the needs of our customers, who are providing services up the value stream in order to fulfill the shifting needs of their brand customers,” said Kevin Wong, Chief Operating Officer at Nulogy. “Many of our customers whose core capabilities are in contract packaging are now looking to better serve brands by also providing additional turnkey services in contract manufacturing and primary packaging. Our software has evolved to enable that growth.” The ability to use a single, integrated system is"incredibly valuable," Wong added, because it provides the tools for work-in-progress visibility, track and trace, and business intelligence, "while still providing executional support for a wide range of customers and jobs.”

Custom Units of Measure was rolled out for Nulogy’s Early Adopter Program last quarter, and has been instrumental for those looking to define unique units of measure to track inventory in a way that’s more representative of shop floor activity. The capability is now available to all; customers and prospective customers can get a demonstration using a request form at product's website.
