Aventics: Control valve is compact, lightweight

See it at PACK EXPO, Booth #3551 (with Bosch Rexroth)! Suitable for assembly close to the actuator, Aventics’ Advanced Valve AV03 valve systems are extremely compact and light, exceptionally modular, and are said to use up to 20% less compressed air, providing engineers more freedom to arrange pneumatics decentrally to increase efficiency.

By using resistant high-performance polymers and reducing the number of parts, AV03 valves are said to weigh half as much compared to the market standard. The required space has also been cut by 45%: valve components are arranged at an angle with optimized supply and exhaust channels to reduce flow losses. Users benefit from a flow improvement of 40%, according to the company, allowing them to lower supply pressure and boost energy efficiency.

With 25-pin D-sub connection, manifolds can be configured in increments of 1 after the second valve position, and after the fourth valve position with 44-pin D-sub and fieldbus connections. The new AV03 can control up to 24 coils with 25-pin D-sub connection, up to 40 coils with 44-pin D-sub connection, and up to 128 coils with Field bus connection. The new valve systems allow up to ten supply plates for this exact purpose.

Using simplified engineering, the new AV03 can connect the valve systems electrically using multipole or fieldbus connections, with integrated I/O modules, depending on their configuration. With the option of directly connecting sensors to the valve electronics, fewer cables have to be fed back to the control cabinet.
