The Contract Packaging Association (CPA) announced that it selected John Mazelin as executive director of the association, effective January 1, 2014. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the association. His primary focus will be to "continue to increase the value proposition of membership for aggressive growth and longevity of our members,” said CPA President Chris Nutley in announcing Mr. Mazelin’s appointment. “John’s contract packaging experience and expertise make him an ideal candidate for the position. I am extremely excited to add his focused horsepower to our efforts.”
Mazelin has more than 15 years of experience in the contract packaging industry and has served on CPA’s Board of Directors since 1997.
He currently serves as vice president of business development for The B4B Alliance, which is headquartered in Louisville, KY, where his responsibilities include overseeing business development across the Alliance, which includes Accu-tec, Inc., a contract packager; Mercury Logistics of Kentucky, a 3PL provider; and Shippers Supply Co, a supplier of packaging materials. He holds degrees from Indiana University and the University of Evansville. He began his packaging career with Inland Container Corporation (now part of International Paper) in sales and sales management. His experience includes interaction with consumer packaged goods companies and tier 1 and tier 2 automotive companies.
The Contract Packaging Association is a not-for-profit business association for companies providing contract packaging, manufacturing and related industrial services.
