New name, logo, publication for Contract Packaging Assn.

The Contract Manufacturing & Packaging Association has changed its name to the Contract Packaging Association. The organization has also adopted a new logo.

To help promote the new Contract Packaging Association (CPA), the Publishers of Packaging World, Summit Publishing Company, will be launching a new publication in April, 2005, called Contract Packaging. This new publication will have a circulation of 25ꯠ buyers of contract packaging services as well as contract packaging companies. Contract Packaging will focus on issues specific to contract packagers, co-packers and co-manufacturers and include relevant news and information for the buyers and specifiers of contract packaging and related services. It will explore the relationship between the CPG companies and the financial benefits of outsourcing of specific packaging operations. Editorial will be written by well-known packaging journalist, editor-in-chief, Jim George. He will work closely with the CPA to develop appropriate topical news about the industry, focusing on news, applications, operations, best-practices, and profiles of CPA members and prospective members.
