New Zealand is king of recycling paperboard...

Seventy-eight percent of all paperboard consumed in New Zealand is being recycled into new products, according to the president of the New Zealand Paperboard Packaging Association.

In Europe the recycle rate is 63.9 percent, and in the United States and Australia, the rate is 55 percent. Asian markets are driving up prices for the recovered paper and paperboard products. In particular, China is using paper packaging—much of it sourced from recycled material—to ship its products around the world.
