What happened to FDA's Nov. update on BPA?

FDA said that by November 30 it would have a revised verdict on the common use of BPA in containers from children's sippy cups to can linings. But December is upon us and no ruling yet. Green Century, a manager of mutual funds deemed environmentally responsible, wants to know what's up.

According to foodproductiondaily.com, Green Century, a group that manages environmentally responsible mutual funds, claims that the FDA is failing the American public because it has not produced a decision on BPA’s safety by the November 30 deadline that the agency had set for itself. Bisphenol A has caused concern because some studies have linked its use to health problems. An advocate for Green Century pointed out the financial and health risks associated with using such chemicals as BPA. The group believes innovative companies should aggressively pursue BPA-free alternatives.
