Pack Expo 2004: Flexcell horizontal cartoning
PACK EXPO WEB EXCLUSIVE: Triangle is offering its Flexcell horizontal cartoning machine at its booth, S-806, at Pack Expo International 2004. Cartoner is designed and built around third generation digital servo motion control. The result is a compact cartoner with an insertion method that propels, not pushes, products into cartons. This eliminates pushed insertion jams and mechanisms such as barrel loaders, product trays, pusher arms, and confiner assemblies. At speeds to 100 cartons/min, machine has fast, 5-min changeovers.

Pack Expo 2004: ER60 high-speed case packing robot
PACK EXPO WEB EXCLUSIVE: Cermex is showing its ER60 high-speed case packing robot at its Pack Expo 2004 booth, S-2448. Machine is based on the ER60 pendulum robot with high mechanical performance for case packing. Machine is a completely new selecting system for unstable products. The case transfer system is designed for a speed of 60 cases/min, while the entire system runs at a speed of 360 bottles/min.

PACK EXPO WEB EXCLUSIVE: Cousins introduced its 2100 Series A Arm stretchwrapper at Pack Expo International 2004. Low-cost automatic stretchwrapper prototype is simple and requires little maintenance. Wrapper requires no grippers, rather the films starts at the top of the package and stays put as the wrapper wraps from the top down. Available January 2005, machine will retail for $9꾾.

Following the success of its switch to PET from glass for Canadian Mist blended whisky in 1999, Brown-Forman Beverage Worldwide in November launched a 1.75-L PET bottle for its Early Times Kentucky whisky. Like Canadian Mist, the Early Times bottle is injection stretch/blow-molded by Schmalbach-Lubeca (Manchester, MI).
