At the SMB packing station, two cases are indexed into position on the infeed and are pneumatically tilted 20¼ away from the robot before loading. This allows the cartons to slide to the far side of the case as they are loaded. After rows of cartons are picked from the infeed and placed into the cases to half fill them, a corrugated divider is inserted before the rest of the rows are loaded to fill the cases.
