Portable data collection for packaging machinery

Increasingly, packagers see the value of gathering machinery performance data and analyzing OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) to improve operational efficiency.

This content was written and submitted by the supplier. It has only been modified to comply with this publication’s space and style.

The problem is, most packaging lines aren’t set up to capture this kind of information.

At PACK EXPO, Zarpac Performance Index added a practical new tool to its suite of packaging line data acquisition software and services.  The ZPI Stealth portable machine ‘forensics’ system is self-contained, easy to set up, non-intrusive to the machine’s control system, portable and cost effective.

In a choice of kiosk or rollerboard case configuration, the Stealth system uses three included sensors and an optional high speed camera system to measure and analyze data from virtually any asset on the production floor.

Built with rugged and reliable Schneider Electric HMI, nano-PLC and electronics, the unit can be moved from machine to machine and plant to plant to benchmark machine and line performance, pinpoint root cause of failures.  No additional hardware, software or networking is required.
