Vision-aided servo bottle unscrambler

Omega Design featured pharmaceutical packaging equipment supporting its Serialization/Track and Trace/E-Pedigree initiative at PACK EXPO.

This content was written and submitted by the supplier. It has only been modified to comply with this publication’s space and style.

Front and center was its new Rotary Pocket Unscrambler with container inkjet printing, vision inspection and container rejection within the machine frame.

In operation at the show, the system printed a 2D matrix containing a unique number on the bottom of each container, followed immediately by vision inspection.

The unscrambler’s complete Schneider Electric solution included an ELAU automation system featuring Intelligent Servo Modules and a Magelis™ HMI panel. Stainless steel construction, ionized air rinse, cam pockets, quick release side arms, gasketed panel doors for sound abatement, an adjustable disc sorter, motorized lid and 30 cubic foot hopper rounded out the feature set.

Omega Design Corporation serves the pharma, personal & health care, cosmetic, food, beverage and dairy industries with unscramblers, shrink packaging systems, stretch banders orienters, feeders and more.
