JLS Automation, a supplier of robotic packaging solutions to the food industry, recently welcomed several guests at its facility in York, PA, to help the company celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The two-day event saw a variety of visitors and distinguished guests including family, friends, partners, customers, state organizations, and the packaging media. All of these groups have played an important part in the company’s history and will be important for the next 60 years and beyond.

The many highlights of the
celebration included special
presentations from PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. PMMI President/CEO Chuck Yuska and PMMI Media Group President/Publisher Joe Angel presented JLS President/CEO Craig Souser with separate commemorative awards to honor the anniversary.

During his welcoming remarks, Souser reflected on the company’s humble beginnings, lessons learned from his father (the company’s founder), the guidance of his mother, and the importance of making sure your reputation is what you want it to be. He further reflected on how today’s success would not be possible without key relationships throughout the years and a true team effort that can be seen at JLS on a daily basis.

Souser shared a question that he was recently asked regarding what the future holds for JLS Automation. Souser states: “I was asked the question: While the company is 60 years old and has had much success, what does the future look like and are you excited about it? I paused for a moment, smiled, and said: ‘Well we have some exciting new products hitting the market right now, have built some strategic partnerships and continue to build a solid team to get us to the next level.’ So my answer was yes, we are extremely excited about what our future holds and where the company is going.”

After the company tours, machine demonstrations, pig roast, memories shared, smiles, and handshakes, guests left with a confidence that JLS’ future looks bright. And, that another 60 years of success is certainly attainable.
