Coregistics adds sixth location in Cleveland

The co-packer and supply chain services provider keeps expanding again, this time adding a broad array of secondary packaging capabilities.

Atlanta-based Coregistics today announced the opening of its newest facility in Cleveland, increasing the packaging-focused supply chain services company's total number of locations to six. Under the guidance of CEO Eric Wilhelm, the company has grown rapidly since its inception in 2011 with multiple, key customer wins and two successful acquisitions including last spring's acquisition of co-packer Cano Packaging, a food and confectionery primary packaging specialist based in the Chicago area.

The new facility in Cleveland adds approximately 100,000 square feet to the company's operations and adds secondary packaging capacity to further support existing customers while offering new customers a variety of packaging and supply chain services. These include bagging, blister sealing, clear & print registered bundling, cartoning, display building, fin sealing, kitting & assembly, labeling, reworking, shrink banding and shrink wrapping.

“While continued expansion is a key component of our long-term plan, we make the decision to add a new operation only when a sustainable, positive growth opportunity presents itself. As is the case with our newest operation in Cleveland, these growth opportunities sometimes revolve around a key customer’s need to quickly establish a supporting presence in a specific city or region," said  Wilhelm. A Cleveland native, he added that the acquisition is "also a personal win," adding that his  logistics industry experience started there, and his family also has ties to the area's warehousing and logistics community. "In fact, multiple Coregistics team members have experience operating contract packaging facilities in the city, which means we know the Cleveland business atmosphere and landscape extremely well," he said.

Representing almost 1.5 million square feet of combined space, the six Coregistics facilities are licensed and certified to meet the strictest customer requirements. Facilities in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio and Tennessee, as well as customer embedded operations and capabilities nationwide, variously offer AIB and Kosher certifications and registrations with DEA, FDA, FSMA, EPA and US Fish & Wildlife.
