At every entrance and at Booth E-6413, you’ll find the official PMMI PACK EXPO floor plan. Again this year, it highlights in blue the OEMs using Schneider Electric’s ELAU Packaging Solutions to maximize their effectiveness.

Newest analyst report: packaging enables business strategy

Also available at Booth E-6413 in the Lakeside Center is ARC’s newest analyst report, a roadmap for leveraging packaging operations as a centerpiece for CPG business strategies.

Packaging remains an overlooked asset for both top line growth and bottom line savings, particularly in a difficult economy. Automation plays a key role in realizing the potential of packaging, and the new report, offered without charge exclusively from ELAU Packaging Solutions, has practical recommendations for brand owners.

Don’t miss these highlights

‘Rethinking robotic case packing’ -- Switchback Group (PACK EXPO Booth S-563) may not be a household name – yet. But their approach to integrated, robot-enabled packaging systems delivers just what the market is asking for.

To Switchback Group, its robot is much more than a case packer, it’s the centerpiece of ‘soft integration’ between packaging processes on a line.

‘Swirl filling’ makes a splash with consumers – Swirl filling is the latest packaging technique to visually entice consumers to purchase some of their favorite combinations in a single package.

PneumaticScaleAngelus will demonstrate this hot new technology, also known as dual phase filling, by appointment at PACK EXPO booth S-400.

Their design is believed to be the first ever rotary dual phase filling system, allowing economical production rates for mainstream personal care, dairy and snack food products as well as base and fragrance filling for home care products.

Edson debuts delta robot case packer -- Sustainability will drive flexible packaging usage to higher levels than ever. That’s good news for Edson Packaging Machinery. With over 40 years of case packing experience, they thoroughly understand difficult to handle packs. Now they’ve applied that knowledge to a new robotic case packing system launching at PACK EXPO International 2008, booth N-4345.

Schneider Electric, ELAU expand Packaging Solutions at PACK EXPO -- New product announcements at PACK EXPO 2008 booth E-6413 emphasize ease of packaging systems design, integration, operation and maintenance:
For example, turnkey control cabinet modules, delivered with all hardware and software pre-installed and ready to run. Combined with Intelligent Servo Modules, the cabinets can save 30 to 70% in required cabinet space.
