This innovative design makes the robot suited for a variety of assembly, part transfer, machine tending, and other handling tasks that formerly could only be done by people. Robot features 13 axes of motion (including single axis for base rotation), with each arm offering 20-kg payload, 1,870-mm reach, and repeatability of +/- 0.1 mm. Robot can transfer a part from 1 of its arms to the other without setting the part down. It also provides “jigless” operation with 1 robot arm holding the part while the other performs operations on the held part. Robot is controlled by the Motoman NX100 robot controller, which features a robust PC architecture, Windows® CE programming pendant, and easy-to-use INFORM III programming language.
