Krones, Inc.: Krones Modul Labeling System

Krones Modul Labeling System offers a new concept in labeling, delivering maximum application flexibility via modular, interchangeable labeling stations.

This content was written and submitted by the supplier. It has only been modified to comply with this publication’s space and style.

Working off its plug-and-label principle, the Modul labeler combines multiple labeling techniques such as cold-glue, pressure-sensitive, hot-melt roll-fed, and hot-melt pre-cut wraparound labels all on a single machine base. With the Modul System, a variety of labels can be run simultaneously. And all this flexibility does not compromise speed, running at 50 to 1ꯠ bottles per minute.

The Modul features a compact, ergonomic bottling table, reducing both set-up and handling parts changeover time, resulting in lower service and maintenance costs. The bottle table and the labeling stations are each controlled by their own servo drives, allowing for further flexibility. The Modul system’s modular construction ensures reduced transportation costs, easier access due to the compact bottling table, and shorter installation times. Computer-controlled servo bottle plates can be pre-programmed to accommodate a multitude of bottle and label configurations at the central computer and at the hand-held pendant at each individual labeling station, making this machine extremely user-friendly.

Krones offers a variety of Modul labeler base sizes to accommodate a packager’s production requirements. The base size of the machine is a determined by speed requirements. The Modul machine base sizes are founded on the Krones cold-glue labeler models – Unimodul, Prontomodul, Starmodul, Solomodul, Topmodul and Multimodul, and range in size from 600 to 2400 mm.
