ID Technology: Semi-automatic can coding system for craft breweries

ID Technology, powered by Pro Mach, has developed a semi-automatic can coding system for small craft breweries. The system combines a Citronix ci3000 Series continuous inkjet printer with a semi-automatic can conveyor to facilitate applying date and lot codes, as well as marketing messages, to the bottom of 12 and 16 oz. cans.

An infeed chute allows an operator to load the cans, while a star wheel gently passes the cans by the CIJ print head and then deposits the cans onto an outfeed chute, where the cans are then removed. As volumes grow and automatic filling equipment is added, the CIJ printer can be installed in-line with the automatic line, preserving the initial investment.

The Citronix ci3000 Series printers are the most reliable, easy to operate printers on the market, consistently providing clear, precise codes each and every time.
