Packaging focus for HBA Global Expo

Packaging and components for health and beauty aids will be prominent when HBA Global Expo opens at New York's Javits Center, June 8 to 10.

The show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. HBA Global Expo is produced by Miller Freeman (New York, NY).

In addition to the enlarged exhibition, HBA also has a full slate of educational seminars and tutorials, including a track for packaging on both Tuesday and Wednesday, June 8 and 9.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jay Bienstock, JB Associates, will lead a panel on Labeling: Picking the perfect "face" for a product. Participants include Bill Bishop, Copac, Inc., Dan Muenzer, Spear, Inc., Ted Rulon-Miller, Engelhard and Jerry Toepfer, Image Worx. At 12:30, Peter Bogle, Chroma Corp., will lead a session on Package decorating. Participants include Richard Brandt, Landor Associates, Eric Johnson of the Institute for Color Research, and Andre Michaud and Tom Sargent, both of DowIndustries.

Tuesday at 3 p.m., Jonathan Asher, Coleman Group, will moderate a session on The power of the package. Speakers include Susan Cates, DuPont Cyrel Graphic Products, Jon Alexander, Placon, Kenneth Hirst, Hirst Pacific and Linda Rothstein, Added Extras.

On Wednesday at 9 a.m., a tutorial on Using your package to sell your image and your product will include presentations and round-table discussion with a line-up of speakers not released at press time. The other conference tracks include marketing and scientific.

"As the only North American show that encompasses everything from formula to finish," says Jack Gonzalez, HBA show manager, "we attract professionals from around the world. HBA has become the most comprehensive sourcing event in the Americas." Some 12귔 domestic and overseas buyers are expected to attend HBA in '99.
