New cat litter pack spotted at PACK EXPO East

Clorox brand Scoop Away cat litter now comes in a convenient new format: four flexible-film brick packs in a shrink-wrapped corrugated tray holding a total of 38 lb of cat litter.

The innovative package was on display at PACK EXPO East—produced by PMMI and held February 26-March 1 at the Philadelphia Convention Center—at the Rovema booth. Clorox uses a Rovema SBS 250 brick pack machine, which uses Rovema’s proven vertical form/fill/seal technology combined with filling, heat sealing, top folding, and top taping.

The idea is to give consumers an alternative to large, heavy, inconvenient containers that are difficult to pour from. The new package began reaching store shelves this month.
