This Web-based survey, which drew 77 qualified responses, was conducted on Packworld.com from June 14 to August 19, 2001. The only responses that were tabulated were those from packaging machinery builders (69%), distributors (10%), and integrators (21%). The rest were discarded. Job duties of respondents were primarily engineering (43%) and sales and marketing (49%). Respondents filled out the survey in exchange for a chance to win a Handspring Visor or Palm personal digital assistant, which was awarded to a respondent chosen at random.
