THK America, Inc: THK America, Inc: Enhanced actuators

THK’s new Actuator Type GL-N offers newly engineered enhancement to offer actuator features with the benefit of Caged Technology.

Pw 8952 C Thk America

Using not 1 but 2 caged ball-type LM guides, the design results in load capacities 200% greater than the company’s original Type GL. Without metal-to-metal contact, this actuator reaches speeds twice as fast as conventional types (at 5 m/sec and accelerations exceeding 5Gs). Caged Technology noise levels are said to be reduced by as much as 15 dBA. Other benefits include life cycle increases, smooth and precise movement, and a synthetic resin cage with patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Available in ball screw-driven or belt-driven versions.
