AIMCAL Awards entry deadline is December 18

Multiple entries are allowed in Coated Product, Technology of the Year, and Sustainability categories.

The Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) has set December 18, 2015, as the deadline for entries in its 2016 awards program. AIMCAL members may submit entries in three competitions: Coated Product, Technology of the Year and Sustainability Award.

The Coated Product Competition recognizes use of a coated or metallized web, presents the Peter Rigney Product of the Year Award and may designate a marketing and a technical award in eight categories: Food Packaging; Nonfood Packaging; Healthcare, Cosmetics and Toiletries Packaging; Label-Retail; Label-Industrial; Decorative/Display; Industrial; and Other. Any web-coated product in commercial use may be submitted, regardless of its market introduction date. However, prior winning entries are not eligible.

The Technology of the Year Competition focuses on technology introduced within the past five years and may present a Technology of the Year Award and honors Finalists in up to four categories: Coated, Laminated or Metallized Product; Coating/Laminating Equipment/Accessories; Metallizing Equipment/Accessories; and Material (substrate, coating, adhesive, etc.).

Winners in the 2016 competitions will be recognized at AIMCAL’s Management Meeting (March 20-23, 2016, Omni La Costa Resort, Carlsbad, CA), on the group’s website and in trade publications worldwide. Judging panels consist of independent experts representing different segments of the converting industry. Judges consider quality improvements, cost savings, sustainability, efficiency gains, sales increases, problems solved, and impact on the industry.

Entrants may submit more than one entry. A fee of $50 per entry, payable to AIMCAL, is required. Entry forms detailing categories and judging criteria may be found on the AIMCAL website: www.aimcal.org.
