Dairy settles labeling suit
Monsanto, the sole manufacturer of growth hormones used in milk, settled a suit with a Maine dairy over a dairy’s labeling of its milk. The corporation charged that the dairy’s claim that its farmers don’t use artificial growth hormones in their milk production is misleading and implies that there is something wrong with these hormones.

Drug group seeks RFID tags, too
Following on the heels of Wal-Mart and the U. S. Department of Defense, the Healthcare Distribution and Management Assn. is now calling for drug makers and wholesalers to deploy radio-frequency identification tags using electronic product codes (EPC) on cases of product by the end of 2005.
