The key is an innovative interchangeable labeling cartridge combined with an icon-driven touchscreen control panel. By mounting a separate, compact labeling cartridge to a backplane containing drive motors and controls, OEM makes it possible to quickly swap cartridges whenever production changes require a different label. This takes the place of reloading rolls of labels, threading the labels through the labeler, and adjusting the system to ensure proper label feed and accurate placement. Now packagers can switch production runs in seconds by swapping pre-loaded p-s labeling cartridges and accessing OEM's proprietary VisualLabel touchscreen control system. In the PELV video footage shown here, OEM Labeling Systems John Heaney demonstrates how quickly one labeling cartridge can be removed and another installed.
