Graphic Packaging: Labeling system with renester

Designed for food and agricultural processors, Graphic Packaging International’s reciprocating clamshell labeling system can pick clamshells, label, and renest labeled clamshells at 60 placements/min, and can run a full range of plastic clamshells up to 10-in wide x 20-in long x 3 ½-in deep.

The system includes a reciprocating vacuum denester to pick clamshells, and a continuous motion conveyor system, which can transport the clamshells under labelers (customer- or GPI-supplied), and will apply one label to the top or bottom of the clamshell. The labeled trays are transported to the renester which accumulates the trays into a stack on a horizontal outfeed.

Quick change or universal magazines are available for the denester to reduce changeover time between tray sizes.
