Battenfeld Gloucester Engineering Co. Inc: Film orienting machine

The MDO Unit from Battenfeld Gloucester is used to orient prestretched, coextruded liner low-density or metallocene polyethylene stretch film. A typical stretch film run on the MDO would be a 3-layer web with an outside cling layer, a core strength layer, and a noncling inside layer.

Machine can accommodate web widths of 70.5”. Unit has draw ratios of 3:1 and 4:1. Rather than being wound after extrusion, film is fed into the MDO unit, preheated, and run through drawing rolls for orientation.
