DesignScout (www.designscout.com) is a search engine of design agencies for all types of design, including packaging. For packaging, site visitors can search for agencies that offer “brand identity/packaging” or “structural packaging/3D” design services. It’s also possible to search for agencies experienced in specific product categories such as fresh foods, frozen foods, baking products, milk-based beverages, personal care items, household cleaning products, etc. Site visitors can also search by firm size, company name or geographic location, including international. Each agency listed in the search engine has a detailed profile including lists of services and clients.

Another packaging supplier focused on ease of navigation is Streamfeeder (www.streamfeeder.com), a maker of feeders and collators. Its recently redesigned site is product-focused, allowing visitors to jump directly to specific product pages from any page on the site via a drop-down menu. Product information is ample, with extensive applications information, product features, options and specifications listed for each machine. Also available on the site under “Tech Support” are a number of downloadable operator manuals in the ubiquitous portable document format, which can be read by a free downloadable copy of Adobe’s Acrobat™ reader.

Perfecseal (www.perfec seal.com), a supplier of medical packaging, films, thermoformed trays and pharmaceutical labels, also has a product-focused site. Its home page consists of a simple but usable lineup of thumbnail product photos and adjacent hyperlinks listing each product name. Each product page lists product detail, capabilities, unique features, equipment and plants used to make the product, and related services.
