Multi-Conveyor recently built a sanitary raw snack food transport and elevation system consisting of five (5) conveyor sections, totaling over 50 yards (150 ft.) of top-cover protected, popcorn transport from salting tumbler to hopper. Very cool.

The salting tumblers feed bulk corn through a cleated incline to bring the product up to 32” top of belt for top-protected transport. The 2” flight cleated belting and transport belting is sanitary blue urethane on mid-level sanitary stainless-steel construction.

The corn then waterfalls and travels through 135’ of flat conveyor while slightly elevating in the process. The corn waterfalls again, then proceeds to a second cleated urethane belt flighted incline, ensuring the popped corn drops through the end-of-conveyor chute at the customer’s requested height to clear feeding into their existing hopper.

The snack food product is food-safe protected with 16 ga. SS top covers through the entire process. The covers are NTR (no tools required) designed for operators to easily, manually lift the tops off incrementally at key entrance points they need to access throughout the entire system.

The top cover supported, hinged stainless-steel guiderails pivot open. Manual removal of covers allows them to rest on their ends permitting operators to effortlessly gain access to critical areas of production for cleaning, maintenance and facilitate simple, safe belt changeovers.

In total, the popcorn travels through three flat conveyors, two waterfall sections and two cleated inclines to get from initial salter infeed to the desired end-chute elevation for the hopper ahead (not shown).

This entire system meets FDA standards including washdown bolted design, continuous welds, welded stand-offs for guide rail brackets, bearing and floor supports (both stationery and pivoting), bolted frame spacers and wear strips, cleaned and passivated with hygienic 7 ga. stainless-steel frames.
