Dorner Mfg. Corp.: Slave Drive Option

A new slave drive option from Dorner allows 1 gear motor to drive 2 separate conveyors by connecting the spindles of 2 facing conveyors together. When the gear motor drives the first conveyor, the slave drive option then turns the spindle of the second, moving it at the same speed as the first.

Option often saves money because fewer gear motors are required for system operation. Building a conveyor system using this option is part of the company’s Engineer Specials Program, which specializes in customizing dimensions and characteristics beyond Dorner’s regular conveyor platforms.
