International agreements

Convenience Food Systems (Avon, MA) has acquired Dixie Union (Kempten, Germany).

—SIG (Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland) has purchased Krupp Kunststofftechnik GmbH (Essen, Germany) and its subsidiaries.

—Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (Chicago, IL) has acquired St. Laurent Paperboard, Inc. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). Also, St. Laurent Paperboard recently joined the High Definition Flexo Consortium (Dayton, OH) as its first substrate sponsor.

—Linx Printing Technologies plc (Cambridgeshire, England) has purchased the package coding business of GSI Lumonics Inc. (Kanata, Ontario, Canada) located in Hull, England.

—Allianz Capital Partners GmbH (Munich, Germany) will purchase the majority of Schmalbach-Lubeca (Ratingen, Germany) shares.

—Elite Converting Machinery (Taunton, England) has merged with Cameron Equipment (Taunton, England) to form Elite Cameron Ltd.

—Demag Ergotech USA (Strongsville, OH) has ended its strategic alliance with Van Dorn Demag Corp. (Strongsville, OH) and will now report directly to Demag Ergotech GmbH (Nürnberg, Germany).

—Canyon Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) has dissolved a joint venture company, Canyon Mfg. Co., with Continental (St. Louis, MO) and renamed it Continental Sprayers.

—Clariant Masterbatches (Muttenz, Switzerland) introduced five global brand trade names, Remafin®, Renol®, Cesa™, Hydrocerol®, Omnicolor®.

—Taiwan Polypropylene Co. Ltd. (Taipei, Taiwan) and Qingdao Kailian Group (Qingdao, China) have signed a memorandum of understanding to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a Sino-foreign joint venture to produce PP for the PRC market.

—Magnat MachineTech, Inc. (Florence, MA) has signed an agreement with H.C. Moog (Rudesheim, Germany) to sell and service its line of sheet-fed gravure printing presses in North America.
