Showtime in Vegas once again

Pack Expo Las Vegas, now in its fourth edition, runs Sept. 10-12 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The Packaging Solutions Conference 2001 and co-located IEFP add to the excitement.

The largest packaging exhibition of the year is Pack Expo Las Vegas 2001, running Sept. 10 to 12 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas. More than 700 exhibitors will show their finest packaging technology, equipment, containers, components, and services. The show will cover more than 400ꯠ net sq’ and is expected to attract more than 25ꯠ attendees and exhibitors.

“The growth of Pack Expo Las Vegas into a Top 50 Tradeshow according to Tradeshow Week is directly attributable to the strength of our exhibitors’ innovative products,” says Mark Garvey, PMMI show committee chairman and president and CEO of Garvey Corporation. “Pack Expo Las Vegas has more original equipment manufacturers exhibiting new products than any other packaging show for 2001. We’re looking forward to leveraging our exhibitor base to attract quality attendees.”

At the show’s official Web site, Packexpo.com, visitors can register, make hotel arrangements, and learn more about show exhibitors. You can even map out your show path. Then, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, dozens of product locators will be available to assist visitors in their research for packaging solutions.

Also featured will be the Packaging Solutions Conference 2001, managed by Packaging Strategies, Inc., in cooperation with PMMI. It’s three days of cutting-edge seminars and workshops covering nearly every vital topic in the packaging field. Packaging professionals will have a variety of presentation topics to choose from, too, including the electronic product code, X-ray technology, improving line efficiencies, advancements in wide-mouth PET, and ergonomics. For a full listing of the conference sessions, see page 54. To register for the conference, visit www.packexpo.com or phone 703/243-8555.

And don’t forget about the OMAC Motion for Packaging working group, which meets Sept. 11 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the convention center. Room location will be announced at the show. (For more on OMAC, see packworld.com/go/omac).

Pack Expo Las Vegas will again co-locate with exhibitors from the International Exposition for Food Processors (IEFP). IEFP will highlight the latest equipment and supplies for the food processing industry.

Recycling issues are on the agenda as well, as Raymond Communications Inc. presents Global Packaging Mandates: How to design for environment and save money. Co-sponsored by Packaging World, this session is Sept. 13 at the Tropicana Hampton in Las Vegas.
