Winpak Ltd. has obtained exclusive rights to use Reynolds Packaging LLC formulations and Drug Master File (DMF) specifications to produce packaging materials used in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Rohrer Corp. achieved chain-of-custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and is the first converter to offer BlisterGuard® with SFI certification.

WS Packaging Group, Inc. is expand- ing operations at its Franklin, PA-based facility to create new jobs. It involves moving its Salem, OH-based facility to the new 25,000 sq-ft facility. Operations are scheduled to begin by the end of August 2009.

Adept Technology, Inc. signed Eagle Technologies Group as its newest Preferred Packaging Partner.

H.B. Fuller Co. has acquired Germany-based Nordic Adhesives Technology.

Dorner Mfg. Corp. has launched the FIT ProgramTM to support its cutomers by increasing production output and reduce overall costs. Technicians will visit customers to install new conveyors, evaluate any existing installed processing and packaging conveyors, and train in-house personnel.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), awarded Unifoil Corp. its 2009 Sustainability Award for Unifoil’s UniLustre® and UltraLustre® transfer-metallizing processes.

CardPak Inc. received the Evolution of Manufacturing Award from Smart Business magazine for adopting “green” initiatives in its manufacturing process.

The Biodegradable Products Institute awarded its certification to Sealed Air’s Cryovac® NatureTray™ package, confirming that the package meets the ASTM D6400 standard for compostable plastics as being biodegradable and compostable in municipal and industrial facilities.

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry awarded Denso Robotics’ Denso XR-Series four-axis, compact gantry robots the Robot Award 2008.

Circle Packaging Machinery, Inc. recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

Amgraph Packaging, Inc. will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the opening of its new “Green Plant” expansion later this year. The plant features 50% more operating space and includes new printing, laminating, extruding, slitting capabilities, and will incorporate LEED certification principles.
