Just as furniture manufacturers work with a limited number of suppliers, so do the auto companies. So returns of the costly shipping containers is more easily managed than in other industries. From vulnerable automotive glass to heavy crankshafts, a wide variety of parts have used platforms and pallets that were made from custom designs. Pak-Line wood pulp products typically replace wood pallets and corrugated boxes that often couldn't be reused. The Homasote process uses 350 tons of old newspapers/day, and even the water used in the hydropulper, hundreds of thousands of gallons/day, is recycled.

This application for Saturn is just one of the latest in many automotive applications for Homasote's recycled Pak-Line products. Even before recyclable packaging became an industry objective, many auto makers selected Pak-Line for custom reusable containers.
