Berry Plastics discusses facility enhancements for healthcare packaging

Berry Plastics upgrades its Phillipsburg, N.J. facility to better accommodate the company’s healthcare packaging portfolio.

Berry Plastics Group, Inc. discussed the progress being made to enhance its Phillipsburg, N.J., facility during PACK EXPO International 2016.

These changes will result in technology and production advancements, and increased speed to market of its healthcare packaging portfolio. The Phillipsburg project includes three key components: expansion of the facility by more than 150,000 sq. ft., creation of a new on-site quality lab, and streamlining of equipment.

“At Berry Plastics, we are committed to providing comprehensive solutions to our healthcare customers,” says Mike Bogar, general manager and executive vice president of healthcare and personal care packaging for Berry Plastics. “Our commitment not only includes being dedicated to designing innovative new products, but it also encompasses ensuring the unwavering quality of our products and the speed to which we can provide them to our customers.”

In addition to the Phillipsburg location providing favorable shipping to key geographic areas, the upgraded lab will provide the company with additional quality assurances, allowing it to provide the highest quality of goods to its customers. The site enhancements are progressing on schedule with an anticipated completion by the end of 2017.
