Krones announces new CEO

Krones has announced the retirement of CEO and Krones board member Heinz Sommer. Holger Beckmann has been named his successor.

Beckmann has been the CFO and a member of the Krones board of directors since 2005. Sommer will provide continuity as a consultant to the company following his retirement.

"We are extremely grateful to Heinz Sommer for the significant role he played in Krones growth and profitability, and his diligent management of the organization. During his tenure, the company greatly enhanced its industry leadership position," says Volker Kronseder, chairman of the executive board. "We are fortunate to have a multi-talented, forward-thinking manager as the new head of Krones. Holger Beckmann brings a wealth of international, financial, and operational executive experience to his new post, as well as a dedication to continuous improvement throughout the organization."
