Label depicts the 21st century

For the 21st year in a row, Kenwood Vineyards, owned by Korbel Champagne Cellars, has released a Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series wine. The 1995 vintage wine is decorated with a label created by printmaker and painter Karl Kasten.

Named "Klox," the print was chosen to celebrate the new millennium. The pressure-sensitive label is a 56# paper offset-printed in seven colors by converter Bolling and Fink (Sonoma, CA). After the ink is laid on the paper, the label is coated, foil-stamped in gold, coated again, debossed and then die-cut.

Kenwood Vineyards' Artist Series collection began in 1978 when the Kenwood, CA-based company commissioned a local artist to design an original piece of artwork that would commemorate the release of Kenwood's first reserve-style cabernet sauvignon. "Kenwood's goal for combining its finest cabernet with the work of contemporary artists was to create an elegant, easily identifiable package, while promoting beautiful artwork at the same time," says Margie Healy, director of public relations at Korbel.

Kenwood produced only 3겨 cases of this Artist Series cabernet, which has a suggested retail price of $65 per bottle.
