Pregis’ IntelliPack business unit granted ISO 9001 certification

ISO 9001:2008 certification has been granted to Pregis Corp.’s IntelliPack business unit, making it the only U.S. foam-in-place (FIP) equipment manufacturer to be currently ISO-certified.

The ISO accreditation process took approximately a year to complete and demonstrates another example of Pregis’ commitment to quality. Driven by customer input, an extensive quality management system was put in place to validate the high-quality standards shared by IntelliPack and its FIP equipment users.

IntelliPack General Manager Bryan Gudgel explains that the certification not only shows a quality commitment to customers but also provides formal methodology for continuous business improvement. Additionally, the ISO certification addresses the growing customer trend of preferring, or even requiring, suppliers to have met these stringent quality management requirements.

“The ISO 9001 accreditation process is far reaching. Not only are production elements examined, but also customer satisfaction, after-sales service, warranties, resource management, analysis and other areas,” says Gudgel. “Going through the accreditation process impacts every aspect of our operation. It takes a team effort to successfully meet the stringent demands of ISO 9001 certification and ongoing third-party audits.”

IntelliPack cost-effective, time-efficient FIP systems were designed with the operator in mind. The intuitive equipment design and responsive controls simplify the packaging process, reduce cost, and increase productivity. Every step from film loading to foam deployment has been carefully evaluated to optimize safety and performance.
