HP’s Specialty Printing Systems division offers the new HP Pharma Black CB935 ink-jet print cartridge, which uses FDA-GRAS ingredients for pharmaceutical applications and brings the efficiency of noncontact, variable-data printing to pharmaceutical and tablet imprinting processes.

Compatible with the HP Product Tracking and Authentication solutions for supply-chain management, the new thermal ink-jet ink cartridge comes in a 20cc size and is said to reduce breakage and contamination with noncontact printing. Cartridges offer serialization for product tracking, anticounterfeiting, and prescription/dose accuracy. The self-contained cartridges accommodate printing speeds of 500’/min at 150 dpi, with a 600-dpi setting also available.
