These O-rings are predominantly used in static sealing applications and can be used between two components as a primary seal to prevent leakage, or as an energizing element. When used as an energizing element, the O-rings provide the necessary initial tension required to keep a non-elastic seal in place so that the sealing edge is pressed to the counterpart.
