Mission Foods Opening New Plant

Construction of a tortilla manufacturing facility in suburban Indianapolis is planned, contingent on tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. board of directors.

Mission Foods 2

Mission Foods and its parent company Gruma Corp. are planning to lease and expand a 510,965-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Plainfield, Indiana. The plant also will be equipped with advanced technological, quality, and safety features. Expected to begin operations early next year, the facility will be able to produce over 187 million pounds of corn tortillas, flour tortillas, tortilla chips, flat breads, and other baked products annually when it becomes fully operational in 2024. More than 500 jobs are expected to created by 2026 as a result of the project.
